Trump Pressures Kennedy Center After Ruling Bars His Name, Threatening to Halt Renovations

[Financial News] After a court ruling prevented United States President Donald Trump from placing his name on the exterior of the Kennedy Center, he threatened that "the center will be closed and there will be no renovations."
According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), President Donald Trump said on the 15th, local time, "The Kennedy Center board agreed today, almost unanimously, to close the building for safety reasons and begin the rebuilding process." He said it would "close its doors immediately," adding that "the very large and complicated renovation work cannot begin until a higher court determines whether my name can be placed on it." He continued, "If the ruling is negative and is not overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, the rebuilding and renovation of the Kennedy Center will not proceed."
The Kennedy Center board had decided in December last year to rename the center the “Trump-Kennedy Center.” However, Christopher R. Cooper, a judge on the Washington federal district court, invalidated the decision and ordered the removal of Trump’s name from the exterior. The name was actually removed in June.
The board later sought to circumvent the ruling by installing a new sign reading, "Renovated and restored by President Donald J. Trump." However, Christopher R. Cooper again blocked the plan that day, ruling that it violated his previous decision.
