[Financial News] Korea Venture Investment Corp. announced on the 16th that it had held an overseas investor relations event for promising startups from Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju and Ulsan.
The event was a follow-up measure after the Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected areas home to the four institutes of science and technology as priority startup cities last April and began establishing a regional startup leadership model. Korea Venture Investment Corp. organized the event to provide regional startups, which have fewer opportunities than their metropolitan counterparts to connect with overseas investors, with opportunities to build networks.
The event featured pitching sessions in which each company presented its innovative technology and vision for global expansion, as well as one-on-one customized meetups for questions and answers between companies and investors.
Lee Dae-hee, CEO of Korea Venture Investment Corp., said, "I hope this event will serve as a stepping stone for startups in the four startup cities to grow into global unicorns and become a meaningful opportunity for investors to discover hidden gems in the regions."
