KOMSCO announced on the 16th that it had launched the new Moneymade product ‘All Four You Money Key Ring’ and officially entered KakaoTalk Gift with its steady seller, the ‘Money Pollack Magnet.’ The products are also being sold simultaneously through KOMSCO’s official online store.
With the launch, consumers can easily and conveniently give KOMSCO’s eco-friendly upcycled merchandise as gifts through a mobile platform. KOMSCO’s strategy of transforming currency from a mere means of payment into cultural content for everyday life is gaining further momentum through access to a mobile distribution network.
The newly introduced ‘All Four You Money Key Ring’ is a miniaturized reinterpretation of the existing popular ‘Lucky Money Key Ring.’ It consists of four mini key rings, each containing currency byproducts from one of four denominations—50,000 won, 10,000 won, 5,000 won, and 1,000 won—bundled into a single key ring to capture the feel of various currencies at once.
The ‘Money Pollack Magnet,’ which is also joining the platform, is an upcycled product shaped like pollack, traditionally believed to ward off bad luck and bring good fortune, and filled with currency byproducts. It is Moneymade’s flagship product, having received an enthusiastic response and sold out through its 13th sales round since its launch on the official online store.
Starting with this launch, KOMSCO plans to continue expanding the Moneymade brand lineup on KakaoTalk Gift.
Sung Chang-hoon, president of KOMSCO, said, "We have been developing a variety of merchandise so that currency can establish itself as cultural content enjoyed in everyday life, rather than merely serving as a means of payment." He added, "We hope that entering KakaoTalk Gift will allow more customers to discover KOMSCO’s distinctive currency merchandise."
Meanwhile, KOMSCO’s expansion of its currency merchandise lineup is part of an effort to strengthen resource-circulation-focused ESG management, going beyond simply diversifying its products. Paper and shredded byproducts generated during currency production or the disposal of damaged banknotes amount to dozens of tons each year and have mostly been incinerated. KOMSCO has combined these materials with eco-friendly resin and household-item manufacturing technologies to transform them into high-value merchandise, earning recognition for achieving both reduced carbon emissions and resource recycling.
