[Financial News] BKL and Dongcheon Foundation continued their community outreach efforts ahead of Chuseok by delivering meal boxes and holiday gifts to approximately 300 elderly people living alone.
BKL, BAE, KIM & LEE IP, and Dongcheon Foundation announced on the 16th that they had held a Chuseok meal-box and gift-sharing volunteer event for elderly people living alone on the 11th at the Social Welfare Wonga Free Meal Center for Seniors in Jongno District, Seoul.
BKL employees prepared meal boxes and serving supplies, individually packaged songpyeon, and served lunch to the elderly people who visited the meal center. Along with providing guidance during the meal, they handed out songpyeon and socks prepared for Chuseok. After meal service ended, they also helped organize and clean the area around the center.
BKL and Dongcheon Foundation began serving meals at Chunghyeon Welfare Center in 2017. Since 2022, they have provided lunch every second Friday of the month at the Social Welfare Wonga Free Meal Center for Seniors.
Last year, approximately 100 BKL employees participated and helped provide meals to 3,157 elderly people living alone. This year, the organizations added Chuseok outreach to their regular meal-service volunteering, preparing not only meals but also holiday gifts such as songpyeon and socks.
