[Financial News] LG Electronics will showcase AI-based, high-efficiency solutions designed to reduce household energy use, covering heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), home appliances and displays.
LG Electronics said it will participate in the ‘2026 World Climate Industry Expo (WCE),’ held for three days from the 16th at BEXCO in Busan. The expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the World Bank (WB).
LG Electronics will exhibit high-efficiency heating solutions based on air-source heat pumps. The recently launched all-in-one ‘LG THERMA V heat pump boiler’ in South Korea produces about four to five times as much thermal energy as the electricity it consumes, reducing energy costs by approximately 40% to 60% compared with conventional fossil-fuel boilers.
In the HVAC exhibition area, LG Electronics will introduce the ‘LG WHISEN AI Objet Collection Tower I air conditioner,’ as well as the ‘LG Multi V i’ and ‘LG WHISEN AI system air conditioner,’ which feature AI-based operation control technology. It will also showcase ‘LG Premium Ventilation Plus,’ which recovers heating and cooling energy otherwise lost during ventilation.
The home appliance exhibition area will feature WashCombo, WashTower and dryers equipped with a top-tier energy-efficiency rating and dual-inverter heat pump technology. In the display category, LG Electronics will present the ‘LG e-Paper Display,’ which reduces power consumption by more than 99% compared with conventional digital signage, and the ‘LG StanbyME 2 Max,’ which lowers standby-mode power consumption to 0.5 watts or less.
The exhibition focuses on highlighting LG Electronics’ residential-solution capabilities by connecting HVAC, home appliances and energy management into an integrated system, going beyond improving the efficiency of individual products.
LG Electronics will also unveil ‘LG Smart Cottage,’ a modular home that integrates AI home appliances and HVAC technologies. Smart Cottage is a residential space that connects appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to optimize electricity use. It became the first prefabricated building in South Korea to receive the highest grade, ‘Plus Zero Energy Building,’ under the country’s zero-energy building certification system.
LG Electronics will also introduce its resource-circulation and carbon-reduction initiatives. By applying composite-fiber materials to OLED TVs, the company has reduced plastic use to about 40% of that used in LCD TVs of the same size, and expects to cut plastic use by approximately 15,000 tons this year. The exhibition will also feature ‘Battery Return,’ an initiative that recovers rare metals from discarded vacuum cleaner batteries, and efforts to expand the use of reusable cups through the ‘LG myCup’ tumbler washer.
Kim Young-rak, president of LG Electronics’ Korea Sales & Marketing Company, said, "We will continue to introduce differentiated energy-efficiency technologies and carbon-reduction products so that customers can experience a sustainable lifestyle in their daily lives."
