SK bioscience Shares Latest Information on Preventing Pediatric Infectious Diseases

[Financial News] SK bioscience shared the latest prevention information on major infectious diseases with pediatric medical staff nationwide and discussed ways to apply it in actual clinical practice.
SK bioscience announced on the 16th that it held the '2026 NEW VISION Symposium,' an academic event for medical professionals, at the Westin Seoul Parnas Hotel in Seoul for two days starting from the 12th.
At this symposium, the latest clinical evidence and clinical experiences were shared, focusing on major infectious diseases treated in pediatrics, including the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants, meningococcal disease, and pertussis.
On the first day, Professor Kim, Yun Kyung of Korea University Ansan Hospital chaired the discussion on the prevention of RSV in infants. Professor Lee Hyun-joo of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Professor Yoon Yoon-sun of Korea University Guro Hospital introduced the importance of RSV prevention in infants and considerations for the treatment process, based on the latest guidelines and actual clinical experience.
In particular, ahead of the RSV epidemic season, infant prevention strategies and clinical applications of the antibody drug 'BEYFORTUS' were discussed. BEYFORTUS is an antibody drug designed to prevent lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV in newborns and infants entering their first RSV epidemic. SK bioscience is collaborating with Sanofi Korea to handle joint sales and distribution in the domestic market.
On the second day, Hyun-taek Lim, President of the Korean Pediatric Association, chaired a lecture on the prevention of meningococcal and pertussis. Professor Han Mi-sun of Seoul Metropolitan Government Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center and Professor Choi Jun-sik of Gangnam Severance Hospital shared the importance of vaccination in light of changes in the infectious disease landscape and strategies for its application in actual clinical practice.
On this day, the quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine 'MenQuadfi,' which was introduced in Korea this year, was also introduced. MenQuadfi can be administered from 6 weeks of age to 55 years and prevents invasive meningococcal disease caused by serotypes A, C, W, and Y of meningococcus.
SK bioscience explained that through this event, it shared the latest clinical evidence for each infectious disease and the actual clinical experiences of medical professionals, and discussed prevention strategies tailored to age and the characteristics of the infectious disease.
