[Financial News] NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang was spotted using Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, drawing attention. After Huang was previously seen using its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, his use of the latest model has once again highlighted his fondness for Samsung’s foldable phones.
According to Newsis and other outlets on the 15th, Huang received a call from U.S. President Donald Trump on the 14th (local time) while discussing AI safety and the future at the All-In Summit 2026 in Los Angeles.
Huang took out his smartphone to answer the call, unfolded it, and switched to speakerphone. He then held up the screen so attendees could see it. The caller was displayed as “President Trump,” and the device was identified as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Samsung Electronics’ eighth-generation foldable phone, unveiled in July. It appeared in the hands of the head of the world’s largest AI semiconductor company about a month after its official launch. However, it has not been confirmed whether Huang purchased the phone himself or received it from someone else.
Huang was previously spotted using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 in May. At the time, the phone was reportedly a gift from Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
Meanwhile, during the call, President Trump criticized efforts to slow the pace of AI development, saying they were driven by political motives or a Chinese scheme.
Regarding concerns about the risks of AI, President Trump dismissed them, saying, “Robots are not going to take over the world, and AI is not going to take over the world. This is all a hoax.” He added that the United States must not fall behind China in the AI race.
Huang replied, “That’s right. We won’t let that happen.”
