"I'm an SBS Comedian"—Man Accused of Throwing Beer Glass at Hongdae Bar and Leaving Without Paying Faces Complaint [Video]

[Financial News] A man who identified himself as a comedian recruited through SBS's open recruitment program allegedly caused a disturbance at a bar near Hongdae in Seoul by throwing a beer glass and left without paying for his drinks. The bar owner filed a police complaint against him.
According to JTBC's "Scandal Supervisor" on the 15th, a group including customers identified as A and B caused a disturbance while drinking at a whiskey bar near Hongik University Station in Mapo District, Seoul, at around 11 p.m. on the 2nd.
When a foreign customer who had entered the bar spoke with A's group and then offered a handshake before leaving, B abruptly picked a fight, saying, "Why are you touching me?"
When the owner and employees tried to stop B, A began protesting, saying, "Why are you taking the foreigner's side instead of the Korean's?" and "Are you looking down on us because we're drinking beer?"
When the owner tried to explain the situation, A hurled verbal abuse, including, "Shut your mouth" and "You'd better watch out."
A then shouted, "I'm an SBS publicly recruited comedian," while mentioning his real name, and threw a beer glass onto the floor, shattering it.
The released video also shows A attempting to smash a whiskey bottle before B stopped him.
In front of police officers who arrived after receiving the report, A also made the bizarre claim that he had been assaulted by a female employee weighing in the 40-kilogram range and had dislocated his shoulder.
A's group left without paying for four beers and one whiskey. They reportedly said they could not pay because the bottles of alcohol they had been drinking were cleared away.
A's side explained, "The foreign customer forced his way in and pushed us, and we became angry because the owner acted rudely. We did not pay because we were told to clear away the glasses we had been drinking from and leave."
The owner filed a police complaint against A's group on allegations of property damage, obstruction of business, and dining and drinking without paying.
A police official stated, "We took over the case from the local police substation and are investigating the specific circumstances."
