[Financial News] The Korea Life Insurance Association and the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice have joined forces to respond to changes in the legal and policy environment surrounding the life insurance industry and to conduct joint research and develop policies.
The Korea Life Insurance Association announced on the 15th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice for joint research and policy development in the life insurance sector.
The signing ceremony was held in a conference room on the 12th floor of the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice. Kim Cheol-ju, chair of the Korea Life Insurance Association, and Jeong Ung-seok, president of the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice, attended the event.
The agreement was established to promote academic research in related fields and connect research findings to policy development amid rapid changes in the legal and policy environment surrounding the life insurance industry.
The two institutions plan to expand academic exchanges and conduct joint research on key issues in the life insurance sector, drawing on their respective expertise and research capabilities. In particular, they will identify shared policy issues through regular working-level policy consultations and examine overseas legislation. They will also establish a forum for discussions aimed at developing effective policy proposals.
Kim Cheol-ju, chair of the Korea Life Insurance Association, said at the signing ceremony, "I hope that the two institutions will maintain a continuous and close partnership so that they can jointly address the various issues facing the life insurance industry and ensure that their research findings lead to actual policy implementation and institutional development, creating valuable synergies."
Building on the agreement, the two institutions plan to strengthen research and cooperation on legal, institutional, and policy issues in the life insurance sector and continue joint efforts to advance related systems.
