President Lee Jae Myung to Hold Press Conference on the 18th: "I Will Clearly State My Position on Major Issues"

[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung will hold a press conference on the 18th. He is expected to directly state his positions on current issues, including controversies over personnel appointments, a constitutional amendment allowing presidential re-election, the cancellation of prosecutions, and the deployment of troops to the Strait of Hormuz.
Sung Ki-hong, the senior presidential secretary for public relations and communication, briefed reporters at the Chunchugwan Press Center at the Blue House on the 15th and announced that President Lee Jae Myung would hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on the 18th at the Yeongbingwan State Guest House. This will be President Lee Jae Myung’s seventh press conference since taking office.
The press conference will last approximately 90 minutes, including opening remarks, a question-and-answer session with reporters, and closing remarks. About 150 domestic and foreign journalists will attend.
Sung Ki-hong said, "This press conference will serve as an opportunity to respond to the public sentiment that gave birth to a government founded on popular sovereignty, convey the president’s firm commitment to reform and his policy of putting people’s livelihoods first, and deliver a message of stronger national unity." He added, "We will also clearly state and explain to the public the president’s positions and direction on major current issues."
He continued, "If reporters ask questions freely about major current issues without being restricted to specific topics, the president will answer them directly." He explained, "The president wants to communicate sincerely and thoroughly on the national policy issues that the public is curious about and wants to hear about."
The press conference will be divided into two broad areas: politics and diplomacy, and policy and the economy.
Sung Ki-hong emphasized, "The seating will be arranged to bring the president and reporters as close together as possible, and we also plan to introduce real-time comments from the public so that we can listen carefully to the people’s voices."
