Government Seeks Organizing Bodies for ‘Export Consortium Project’; Up to 70% of Expenses Covered

[Financial News] The government is recruiting organizing bodies to participate in the ‘2027 Export Consortium Project’ through October 7.
 According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 15th, the project provides partial government funding when industry associations and organizations, along with export-related organizations, form consortia with small and medium-sized enterprises and participate in overseas exhibitions or business consultation sessions to develop new markets.
 Specifically, the government will cover up to 70% of common expenses, including exhibition hall rental, installation of exhibition and consultation booths, pre- and post-event marketing, and buyer identification.
 The selected organizing bodies will carry out projects to participate in overseas exhibitions and business consultation sessions held from January next year through March 2028. 
 They will also recruit small and medium-sized enterprises to form consortia, conduct preliminary preparations such as local market research and buyer identification, and dispatch delegations to exhibitions and business consultation sessions.
 To ensure that participation in exhibitions and business consultation sessions leads to tangible results, the project will also support follow-up procedures, including inviting buyers, holding consultations in Korea, and concluding export contracts.
 Sim Jaeyun, Director General for Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "As changes in global supply chains make it necessary for small and medium-sized enterprises to diversify their export markets, we hope the Export Consortium Project will provide many of them with an opportunity to enter new markets."
