“He Had Not Gone to Work,” Coworker Reported... Man in His 40s Found Dead Inside Burned-Out Car

[Financial News] Police are investigating after a man in his 40s was found dead inside a completely burned-out passenger car in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province.
According to the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters and other sources on the 15th, a coworker reported to police at around 8:19 a.m. on the 14th that “Mr. A had not shown up for work.” The incident occurred in Seokpo-myeon, Bonghwa County.
The caller reportedly also informed police that Mr. A’s 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which he usually drove, had burned out completely.
Fire authorities responded at the police’s request for a joint response and confirmed that Mr. A was dead inside the burned vehicle. After securing the scene, they handed his body over to police.
No separate fire report was received by emergency number 119 at the time, authorities said.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the vehicle fire.
