[Financial News] International students at Hansung University experienced Korean Chuseok culture by making songpyeon themselves.
Hansung University ESG Center announced on the 15th that it held the “A Mouthful of Chuseok” event for international students on the 14th at Sangsang Hall on campus, together with the Seongbuk District Social Economy Center.
Twenty-five international students from Vietnam, China, Myanmar and Uzbekistan who are enrolled at Hansung University took part in the event.
The students listened to explanations about social-economy enterprises operating in Seongbuk District and local social-economy activities, and spoke with company representatives. They then made songpyeon themselves, experiencing the meaning of Chuseok and Korean holiday culture.
The event was organized to introduce Korean traditional culture to international students while also showcasing social-economy activities taking place in the local community.
Park Jin-gap, head of the Seongbuk District Social Economy Center, said, “I hope this was a meaningful opportunity for international students celebrating a holiday in a foreign country to experience Korea’s warm sense of community and learn about the values of the social economy.”
