Toxicology Institute Supports K-Bio’s Entry into the Middle East

[Financial News] The Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT) is participating in the fourth Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit (RGMBS 2026, Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit), held in Saudi Arabia from the 14th to the 16th, to support promising South Korean biotech startups seeking to enter the Middle Eastern market.
According to KIT on the 15th, the RGMBS is an international event attended by government officials from the biotech and medical sectors worldwide, global pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, startups, and investment firms. As the lead organization for the biohealth sector of the DIPS project, supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, KIT is participating in the event to expand opportunities for outstanding South Korean biotech startups to enter the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market.
At the event, KIT is operating a joint K-Bio promotional pavilion to showcase the technologies and competitiveness of South Korean companies and support business networking with local pharmaceutical and biotech companies and investment firms. It is also participating in Korea Night and a biotechnology investment forum, supporting IR pitches and exchanges between companies and investors. Through these efforts, KIT is expanding opportunities for participating companies to commercialize their businesses, including by identifying potential partners and investors.
Heo Jeong-du, director of KIT, said, "I hope that participating in the RGMBS will serve as an opportunity to showcase the outstanding technologies of promising South Korean biotech companies in the Middle Eastern market and identify new opportunities for cooperation." He added, "We will continue to strengthen local network-building and commercialization support so that South Korean biotech companies can achieve tangible business results in global markets."
Meanwhile, KIT has served as the lead organization for the biohealth sector of the DIPS project since 2022. It operates specialized programs, including drug-candidate analysis and toxicity testing, global regulatory consulting, domestic and international mentoring, and global commercialization support.
