[Financial News] Lotte Group is recruiting students for the second cohort of 'LIFT (Lifetime Inspiration For Tomorrow),' a practical training program designed to enhance the employment capabilities of young people. The second LIFT cohort will be operated exclusively in Busan and is expected to be a valuable opportunity for local youth to experience Lotte Group's actual business environment and develop their employability.
According to Lotte Group on the 15th, LIFT is a program jointly operated by Lotte Group and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) as part of the government-led youth vocational training program, KNDA.
This is a practical, hands-on training program designed to help young people considering the start of their careers develop both on-the-job skills and employment competitiveness by experiencing job duties in Lotte Group's actual business environment. Training for the first cohort, recruited last June, is currently underway, and the program will continue through this recruitment for the second cohort.
The second cohort will offer hotel and service expert courses and distribution and retail expert courses for young people in the Busan region.
The Hotel & Service Expert Course is designed for young people interested in roles within the hotel and service industry, such as sales and marketing, customer experience, F&B, and room management. It consists of a field-oriented curriculum that includes an introduction to and tour of LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS, service mindset training, a tour of guest rooms at Signiel Busan, special lectures by current employees, hands-on experience in F&B and banquet roles at a five-star hotel, and sommelier and barista experiences.
The Distribution and Retail Expert Course is designed for young people interested in MD, marketing, customer experience, and store operations roles, and is a specialized program for those hoping to find employment in the department store, supermarket, and e-commerce industries. The curriculum consists of department store site tours and study sessions, an understanding of practical MD work with current professionals, analysis of sales and profit structures and product planning practice, and practical training in planning online and offline promotions.
Both courses commonly provide basic non-job competency training, such as fundamental business skills and capabilities in utilizing digital and generative AI, along with employment support programs including practical project execution based on mentoring by industry professionals, idea competitions, job competency enhancement, and interview practice.
The training is entirely free of charge. Students receive a monthly youth training allowance of up to 500,000 won. Outstanding graduates are granted preferential treatment in the document screening process when applying for positions at Lotte Group affiliates. In addition, various forms of support are provided, including field-based projects and practical experience, on-site training at Lotte Group affiliates, employment consulting, and interview coaching.
Applications are accepted until the 27th. Following the announcement of successful candidates, the training will take place from the 19th of next month until January 14 of next year. Eligibility is open to unemployed youth aged 15 to 34.
A Lotte Group official stated, "The first course has been well received by participants as it combines practical, hands-on lectures that can be immediately applied to the workplace with team activities, field visits, and mentoring from industry professionals." The official added, "We plan to operate the second course as well to support young people's substantial career advancement."
