"Is it a mistake?"... Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex introduces Chinese traditional clothing as 'hanbok'

[Financial News] Controversy is arising after it was revealed that the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation displayed an image of a person wearing Chinese-style clothing on an electronic display installed in the Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex, labeling it as "hanbok."
According to the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation on the 15th, the corporation displayed this screen while operating the 'POST APEC Media Wall' electronic display board installed in the square near the waterfront performance venue within the Bomun Tourist Complex.
This electronic display board is a facility that was installed at the Lakeside Plaza of the Bomun Tourist Complex during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit held in Gyeongju last year. After recently relocating the board, the corporation was running content introducing the clothing of the 21 participating APEC countries.
The problem was the screen introducing China. The screen displayed the country name "China" along with a figure wearing Chinese-style clothing, but the clothing was labeled as "hanbok."
Resident A, who witnessed this scene, pointed out, "This content could cause misunderstanding given the current situation in which China is attempting to incorporate hanbok into its own traditional clothing."
An official from the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation stated, "We have been conducting trial runs for a few days, but there was a transmission error," adding, "We have currently suspended the transmission and plan to resume it after making corrections."
