SKB·SKT Digitize Social Security Information... Laying the Foundation for AI Welfare

[Financial News] SK Broadband, together with SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (SKT) and the Korea Social Security Information Service, is setting out to lay the foundation for a proactive AI welfare system by digitizing social security information and establishing an artificial intelligence (AI) consultation system.
In particular, the plan is to enhance the security and stability of citizens' welfare information by applying a quantum-resistant cryptography (PQC)-based AI autonomous security operating system.
SK Broadband and SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (SKT) announced on the 14th that they signed a business agreement at the conference room of the Korea Social Security Information Service in Gwangjin District to lay the foundation for digital innovation and sustainable future growth in the social security sector.
The digital transformation of welfare services is a key task for enhancing public convenience and service accessibility. Particularly in the public service sector, as the demand for AI and data-driven service innovation grows, the need for proactive new technologies and advanced security capabilities to stably support this is also increasing.


Accordingly, SK Broadband and SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (SKT) are driving the digital transformation of the Korea Social Security Information Service based on AI, quantum security, and cloud technologies, aiming to establish an environment where citizens can use welfare services more safely and conveniently.
The three institutions plan to form a joint operational council to discuss collaborative tasks aimed at enhancing citizen-centered welfare services by combining public expertise with private sector innovative technologies, while simultaneously establishing concrete implementation plans. Specifically, they will jointly pursue four key initiatives: demonstrating an AI-based autonomous security operating system utilizing quantum-resistant cryptography; providing technical support for the preemptive identification of welfare-crisis households using communication data and AI counseling; enhancing security using quantum-resistant cryptography and applying wired and wireless quantum communication; and providing technical support for the construction and operation of hardware, software, and security systems within the cloud.
Kim Gu-young, Head of the Enterprise Business Division at SK Broadband, stated, "This project will serve as an important opportunity to enhance the digital competitiveness of welfare services that are tangible to the public," adding, "We will contribute to the digital innovation of public services based on the AI, quantum security, and cloud capabilities possessed by SK Broadband and SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (SKT)."
