[Financial News] Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, has reclaimed the top spot in the online brand index for women chief executive officers (CEOs) after just one month.
According to Segye Ilbo on the 15th, Lee ranked first in the women CEO category of the K-Brand Index, based on an analysis by the Asia Brand Research Institute of online data collected throughout August 2026 from the 30 women CEOs with the highest search volumes on portal sites.
In the previous month's survey, conducted in July, Kim Jung-soo, chairwoman of Samyang Foods, ranked first and Lee ranked second. This time, the two switched places, with Kim falling to second.
Chung Yoo-kyung, chairwoman of Shinsegae, ranked third, followed by Soo Yeon Choi, CEO of NAVER, in fourth and Kim Yoo-jin, CEO of Hanssem, in fifth.
From sixth to 10th were Kim Sun-hee, vice chairwoman of Maeil Dairies; Lee Young-joo, CEO of Chilgap Nongsan; Lee Hye-min, co-CEO of Pinda; Shina Chung, CEO of Kakao; and Lee Sun-jung, CEO of CJ Olive Young, respectively. Lee Sun-jung was a new entrant in the top 10 in this survey.
The survey analyzed 7,446,836 pieces of online data collected from the first through the 31st of last month. The evaluation incorporated trend, media, social, positive and negative reactions, activity, community, and artificial intelligence (AI) indexes.
The institute explained that it ranks the subjects by adding the individual indexes together without assigning separate weights to them.
However, the index reflects only online interest and reactions, and does not include offline evaluations. It should also be noted that the index differs from a management performance ranking, which comprehensively assesses corporate results, shareholder value, and organizational management capabilities.
