[Financial News] The KOSPI Composite Index is fluctuating within a narrow range around unchanged levels in early trading, struggling to find direction.
At 10:15 a.m. on the 15th, the KOSPI Composite Index was trading at 6,680.10, down 4.27 points, or 0.06%, from the previous trading session. The index opened lower and appeared to rebound, but turned downward again.
Individual investors were the only net buyers, purchasing a net 500.4 billion won. Institutions and foreign investors, meanwhile, were net sellers of 341.6 billion won and 473.3 billion won, respectively, weighing on the index.
Samsung Electronics was up 0.80%, while SK hynix gained 0.41%. SK Square (1.20%), Samsung Electro-Mechanics (0.37%), LG Energy Solution (1.85%), and Hyundai Motor (0.27%) were also advancing. Han Ji-young, a researcher at KIWOOM Securities, said, "The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield breaking above 5.0% and the sharp drop in U.S. semiconductor stocks are burdensome factors." However, Han forecast, "Given the perception that these developments have already been reflected in the domestic stock market and that U.S. stocks narrowed their losses during the session, the market will work to recoup the previous day’s sharp losses."
At the same time, the KOSDAQ (Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) was trading at 820.58, up 13.79 points, or 1.71%, from the previous session.
