What Did Jensen Huang Say After Receiving Trump’s Call During the Forum?

[Financial News] Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, made headlines on the 14th local time after receiving a call from U.S. President Donald Trump during the All-In Summit, a technology innovation forum held in Los Angeles. Huang put the call on speakerphone and shared it with the audience.
TechCrunch and the U.S. business news network CNBC reported that when President Trump called Huang onstage, Huang switched the call to speakerphone. He then asked the production staff for a microphone and broadcast the conversation live to the entire audience.
When Huang struggled to activate the speakerphone, President Trump joked, "Jensen makes the most complicated computer chips in the world, but he doesn’t know how to turn on a speakerphone."
The surprise call took place while Huang was discussing his position on calls to slow the pace of AI development, raised by Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic; Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX; and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.
President Trump, who recently criticized Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s call to slow AI development, stressed, "Such claims are being driven by political forces seeking to hinder America’s progress or by China’s intentions," adding, "Calls to slow AI development are a kind of hoax, and I will never stand by and let that happen." Huang responded, "You’re absolutely right. I will never let that happen," prompting applause from the audience.
President Trump and pro-administration figures, including Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan, have also argued that growing opposition in the United States to data-center construction is "a scheme intended to undermine U.S. economic growth."
President Trump emphasized that data centers would be "as important as oil for the next 20 to 25 years."
On his social media platform Truth Social, he has also called opponents of AI and data centers "evil revolutionaries" and posted that he sees no need for regulation.
In reality, public concerns are focused on environmental factors. According to a recent Gallup poll, 70% of Americans opposed building data centers near their homes, while more than 50% of respondents cited the impact on environmental resources as a reason for their opposition. About 20% were concerned about rising living costs and a decline in quality of life.
Appearing mindful of these concerns, President Trump reiterated, "We need to proceed carefully, but that does not mean we can shut down an entire industry," adding, "The United States will continue to lead the AI industry."
