[Financial News] Liner has launched the AI orchestration solution ‘Liner Model API.’ It is designed to cut large language model (LLM) token costs by more than 50% while maintaining the response quality of high-performance models. The company aims to reduce unnecessary infrastructure spending by businesses.
According to industry sources on the 15th, most companies currently building AI systems process all user questions through a single high-priced, frontier-grade model to ensure response quality. However, because all questions are handled by a top-tier model even though their difficulty varies widely, the approach has a structural limitation that causes unnecessary infrastructure costs to surge.
Liner focused on companies weighing the quality issues of low-cost, lightweight models against the high adoption costs of frontier-grade models. The Liner Model API cuts token costs by more than 50% while maintaining response accuracy at the level of top-tier models. It can be implemented immediately by simply replacing the existing API, without requiring complex logic.
Based on performance validation accumulated in users’ real-world environments, Liner precisely selects the optimal model for each type of question. This addresses the limitation that public benchmark tests alone cannot adequately handle the diverse and complex question patterns of actual users.
An evaluation of Liner’s own real-world usage data found that about 43% of queries were assigned to high-performance models. Difficult queries requiring coding, mathematics, or complex reasoning were assigned to top-tier models to maximize accuracy, while the remaining 57% of general queries were allocated to efficient models, increasing cost savings without sacrificing answer accuracy.
Rhymer, Liner’s CEO, said, "Processing every question exclusively with a top-tier model is like bringing in a supercomputer every time you need to perform a simple calculation." He added, "We will create an environment where companies can move beyond the burden of costs and the fatigue of choosing models, allowing them to focus solely on innovating their core operations."
