[Financial News] Korea Investment Holdings subsidiary Korea Investment & Securities said on the 15th that it would newly list 268 Equity-Linked Warrants (ELWs). The new listings comprise 38 index-linked products based on the KOSPI 200 Index and 230 single-stock products based on Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Naver, Hyundai Engineering and Construction, and other underlying assets.
An ELW is a financial product that trades the right to buy or sell an individual stock or stock index at a predetermined price on the maturity date. Investors expecting the underlying asset to rise can use call ELWs, while those anticipating a decline can use put ELWs to pursue investment strategies based on the market's direction.
However, if the underlying asset moves contrary to expectations, investors may lose up to 100% of their principal at maturity. Caution is therefore advised.
To trade ELWs, investors must complete an investment-profile assessment and mandatory investor education in advance. New customers must also meet a minimum basic deposit requirement of 15 million won.
Korea Investment & Securities ranks No. 1 in both trading value and number of listed products in the Korea Exchange (KRX) ELW market. The company provides investors with market and investment information through its dedicated ELW website and the KakaoTalk channel 'TRUE ELW.'
