"No interruptions for AION 2"—NCsoft joins forces with Microsoft Korea

[Financial News] NCsoft has partnered with Microsoft Korea to establish a stable gaming environment for AION 2, which will launch worldwide next month. The company plans to use Microsoft Azure infrastructure to handle large-scale simultaneous connections worldwide and regional fluctuations in traffic.
According to industry sources on the 15th, NCsoft Chief Business Officer (CBO) Baek Seung-wook, Wonwoo Cho, president of Microsoft Korea, and other key executives from both companies met on the 14th at NCsoft’s R&D center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, to discuss ways to collaborate by leveraging each company’s technological capabilities.
NCsoft plans to work closely with Microsoft to ensure the successful operation of AION 2, which is scheduled for a global launch on October 5.
Microsoft will mobilize both its global technology organization and its dedicated Korean team to support the entire process, from performance testing before launch to rapid incident response after the service begins. The companies also plan to gradually expand their collaboration, including broadening user touchpoints through joint marketing with Microsoft’s global gaming organization.
NCsoft is strengthening its cooperation with Microsoft across its digital work environment by adopting Microsoft 365 E5 and Microsoft 365 Copilot. It is also reviewing the use of Microsoft 365 Copilot to improve employee productivity.
Vice President Baek Seung-wook said, "Choosing Microsoft Azure was not simply an infrastructure decision, but a strategic choice based on our trust in Microsoft." He added, "Starting with this collaboration, we will further enhance NCsoft’s global competitiveness in the gaming industry."
