[Financial News] CJ Group will make early payments totaling 660 billion won to small and medium-sized partner companies ahead of Chuseok as part of its mutual growth efforts. The amount is more than double that of the previous year.
According to CJ on the 15th, six major affiliates will participate in the early payment program: CJ CheilJedang, CJ Olive Young, CJ Logistics, CJ ENM’s commerce division, CJ Freshway, and CJ OliveNetworks.
About 7,400 small and medium-sized supplier companies will benefit. The total payment amount is 660 billion won.
The payments will be made by each company from the 18th until before the Chuseok holiday. On average, they will be paid approximately two weeks to one month earlier than the usual payment date.
A CJ official said, "We make early payments for delivery-related amounts owed to partner companies every year ahead of Chuseok as part of our mutual growth efforts. We hope this will help ease the temporary financial burden placed on small and medium-sized partners ahead of the holiday."
CJ is also continuing various initiatives to promote mutual growth with small and medium-sized partner companies. In 2017, CJ CheilJedang became the first private-sector company to introduce Tomorrow Mutual Aid, a mutual growth support program, contributing to employment stability at partner companies. Since 2024, CJ Olive Young has led efforts to build the K-beauty ecosystem by supporting the global competitiveness of small indie brands through its annual "K Super Rookie with Young" program.
