"Kian84 and Pani Bottle Become Customs Officers"... Korea Customs Service Releases Honest Declaration Campaign Video

[Financial News] Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the Korea Customs Service has launched a campaign to establish a culture of honest voluntary declarations among overseas travelers.
 The Korea Customs Service announced on the 15th that it had released a policy-promotion video produced in collaboration with broadcasters Kian84 and Pani Bottle to encourage honest declarations by overseas travelers ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
 The project was designed to convey the policy message, "Enjoy your travels, and make honest declarations," through cast members specializing in travel content. Pani Bottle's collaboration video with the Korea Customs Service was selected last year as an outstanding example in the government performance evaluation. This year, broadcaster Kian84 joined the project, increasing the video's reach through a "collaborator" format with Pani Bottle's YouTube channel.
 The video combines the cast members' experiences performing customs duties after transforming into customs officers with entertainment elements. It uses popular Korea Customs Service-related Instagram posts written by members of the public as source material and introduces traveler customs information through real complaint cases, including prohibited imports such as drugs, voluntary declaration procedures, and tax payments.
 Alongside the video's release, the Korea Customs Service plans to conduct an extensive promotional campaign through online channels, including public-participation events, affiliated-agency websites, and a KakaoTalk consultation channel, as well as offline media such as electronic billboards at departure and arrival areas in airports nationwide.
 Lee Jong-wook, commissioner of the Korea Customs Service, said, "We sought to make policy information both useful and entertaining by adopting the format of travel content frequently watched by the public." He added, "We will continue to create a promotional environment that the public can experience directly and do our utmost to ensure that a culture of honest declarations takes root naturally."
 Meanwhile, the Korea Customs Service offers a benefit that reduces customs duties by 50%, up to KRW 150,000, when travelers voluntarily declare their personal belongings. It has also established an electronic declaration and payment system using the Mobile Korea Customs Service app and QR codes to reduce the inconvenience of completing paper declaration forms, shorten processing times at arrival halls, and make honest declarations more convenient.
