On the 15th, NH NongHyup Financial Group announced that it had visited Dosa Elementary School in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, on the 14th to hold a ceremony to deliver donated supplies to rural elementary school students.
The financial group gave the children products from a social enterprise, made with care by workers with developmental disabilities. The 500 sets of handmade cookies and 500 stationery sets prepared by NH NongHyup Financial Group and NH Investment & Securities will be delivered through ChildFund Korea to approximately 500 students at seven elementary schools in rural areas of Suncheon.
This sharing initiative is part of NH NongHyup Financial Group’s mutual-growth relay project, which carried the warmth from Yeongcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in July to Suncheon, South Jeolla Province. It was planned as part of the Nongshim Cheonsim (Farmers’ Hearts Are the Heavens’ Hearts) Movement, based on the belief that “a farmer’s heart is the heart of heaven.” The project created a virtuous-cycle mutual-growth sharing model by supporting jobs through purchases of products from social enterprises, including businesses employing people with disabilities, while giving rural children special memories.
An NH NongHyup Financial Group official said, “We are pleased to give the children in Suncheon meaningful memories following those we gave to the young dreamers of Yeongcheon in July.” The official added, “We will continue our field-oriented mutual-growth activities to support rural communities struggling with population decline and aging, as well as future generations.”
