MC Mong Says, "It Came From Your School Anyway"—Hands Student Cash Equivalent to Tuition at Festival

[Financial News] Singer MC Mong selected a student at a university festival and handed over cash equivalent to one semester’s tuition. As he gave the student the money, he drew attention by saying, "It came from your school anyway."
On the 11th, MC Mong took the stage for the closing performance at Kyonggi University’s festival in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, and performed in front of the students.
The set included “Jeolmeunnal,” a pre-release track from his recently announced 10th full-length album, as well as his signature songs “Seokeoseu,” “Ice Cream,” and “Love Mash.” As previously announced, MC Mong performed more than 10 songs, and the students in attendance responded by singing along.
Near the end of the performance, a prepared event was revealed. MC Mong called one student to the front of the stage after noticing the student enthusiastically singing along at the top of their voice throughout the show. When the student said, "I work three part-time jobs," MC Mong asked about the student’s major, then took out cash he had brought in advance and handed it over. He was carrying out onstage his earlier promise to provide one semester’s tuition.
As he handed over the cash, MC Mong said, "I don’t care whether you spend it on drinks or clothes, but it came from your school anyway." He added, "I just wanted to give it to someone who really stood out to me." The scene could be interpreted as MC Mong returning part of his Kyonggi University festival appearance fee to a student in the form of tuition assistance.
This “tuition event” was not a spur-of-the-moment decision made at the venue. On the 4th, MC Mong announced during a TikTok livestream that he would perform at the final stage of KGU’s festival, saying, "Since it’s the closing performance, I’m planning to do more than 10 songs." At the time, he promised, "I’ll personally select one student, give them cash equivalent to one semester’s tuition, and pay it for them," adding, "I believe good deeds will find their way back somehow."
The promise was fulfilled onstage about a week later. MC Mong performed with the cash prepared and personally selected one student at the venue before handing over money equivalent to the student’s tuition.
