Uway Apply CEO Apologizes for Early Admissions Application Disruption: “We Will Identify the Cause of the Server Error and Prevent a Recurrence”

[Financial News] Uway Apply, which experienced a system failure ahead of the deadline for 2027 early admissions applications, officially apologized to applicants and their parents.
On the 14th, Uway Apply CEO Sung Yoon-seok issued an apology in the conference room of the Seoul university education council, stating, "An unexpected server error occurred in our application submission system at around 5:50 p.m. on the 11th." He added, "We sincerely apologize for causing significant confusion and inconvenience to applicants who were completing their final submissions ahead of the deadline."
Uway Apply explained that, immediately after the disruption occurred, it extended by one hour—from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.—the application deadlines for universities that had originally been scheduled to close submissions at 6 p.m., in accordance with the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE)'s disruption response manual.
CEO Sung said, "We fully understand that these measures cannot undo all the emotional distress experienced by applicants and their parents." He added, "We are taking this incident extremely seriously." He continued, "We will make every effort to prevent a recurrence by thoroughly identifying the cause and strengthening our emergency response system." He also said, "We will humbly accept the criticism from applicants and their parents and rebuild our service as a safe and trusted admissions application platform."
