[Financial News] Netmarble Corporation is strengthening its push into the local market at the Japanese game exhibition 'Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2026' by showcasing new intellectual property (IP) and subculture titles. This year, the company is increasing the number of exhibited titles from two last year to three and expanding the size of its exclusive booth.
Netmarble Corporation announced on the 14th that it will exhibit Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Most Powerful Species, Solo Leveling: KARMA, and Pearl in Blue at TGS 2026, which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, from the 17th to the 21st.
Netmarble Corporation set up an exclusive booth for the first time at last year's TGS to showcase 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' and 'MONGIL: STAR DIVE'. This year, the number of exhibited titles has been increased to three, and the size of the booth has been expanded from 56 to 63.
According to global market research firm Sensor Tower, the size of in-app purchases in the Japanese mobile game market is $11 billion (approximately 14.7279 trillion won), making it the second largest in Asia following the Chinese Apple App Store market. The PC and console game market is also the second largest in the world after the United States. It is assessed that games utilizing original IPs are achieving successive hits due to the robust subculture market based on anime and manga fandoms.
Netmarble Corporation's entries are also interpreted as targeting these local market characteristics. Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Most Powerful Species and Solo Leveling: KARMA are based on original IPs with high recognition in Japan, and Pearl in Blue is also a subculture game that emphasizes interaction with characters.
Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Most Powerful Species is the first game adaptation of the Japanese IP 'Shangri-La Frontier,' which has surpassed 1 billion cumulative views and 17 million copies of comics sold. The first playable demo will be unveiled at TGS, and a talk show featuring the main voice actors from the anime will be held on the 20th.
Solo Leveling: KARMA is a roguelike action role-playing game (RPG) that depicts the '27-year war of monarchs' that was not covered in detail in the original work. Starting on the 18th, a cosplay show and streamer battle will be held, and on the 20th, a time attack competition will take place featuring voice actor Taito Ban, who plays Sung Jinwoo, and others.
Pearl in Blue is a narrative-driven subculture collectible RPG where you interact with girls. We will showcase the first demo build and an experiential booth reflecting the worldview. Live performances by the official voice cast, a talk show, and a cosplay show will also be prepared.
"A Netmarble Corporation official said, 'We plan to increase contact points with users through various on-site programs and, based on this, continuously expand our performance in the Japanese market.'"
