Discount Vouchers for Signature Dishes Distributed Ahead of Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival

【Financial News Chuncheon=Kim Ki-seop】Visitors can now enjoy Chuncheon’s signature dakgalbi and makguksu at lower prices not only at the festival venue but also at neighborhood restaurants.
Chuncheon City and the Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival organizing committee said on the 14th that they would offer discounts of 3,000 won on dakgalbi and 1,500 won on makguksu from that day through October 25. The initiative is intended to draw visitors to local restaurants beyond the festival venue and expand local spending ahead of the Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival.
Online discount vouchers can be used through Naver Booking. Chuncheon City set an ample usage period extending before and after the festival to reduce overcrowding during the event and give visitors more time to explore restaurants throughout Chuncheon.
A total of 151 establishments are participating in the discount voucher program—87 offline and 64 online, 38 more than last year. Offline paper-voucher affiliates include 67 dakgalbi restaurants and 20 makguksu restaurants, bringing the total to 87, up 16 from last year’s 71. Online participation through Naver Booking has also increased by 22 establishments to 64, including 49 dakgalbi restaurants and 15 makguksu restaurants.
Offline discount vouchers are available at administrative welfare centers in eup, myeon and dong areas and at tourist information centers. Vouchers are also provided to people who take part in food-preference polls and quizzes at “Makdak” promotional booths visiting local event venues. After distributing vouchers at the University Festival, Chuncheon Sul Festa and Gangchon Mulbit Market, promotional booths will also operate at Coffee Festa, Ani Toy Festival and the Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival venue.
Participating establishments will continue to be recruited until the festival begins. Information on participating businesses, how to use the vouchers and the affiliate application process is available on the festival’s official website and social media channels.
A Chuncheon City official said, "We prepared the discount vouchers so people can enjoy the city’s signature dishes at neighborhood restaurants throughout the ample period before and after the festival," adding, "We will reduce the burden of dining out for tourists and provide meaningful support to sales at local businesses."
