Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority to Strengthen Cooperation with China’s Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan

【Financial News Gwangyang = Hwang Tae-jong】The Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority will strengthen cooperation with China’s Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan. The port handles the world’s third-largest container cargo volume.
On the 14th, the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority said it held a meeting with officials from China’s Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan at the Port of Gwangyang the previous day to discuss ways to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two ports. The meeting was attended by Hwang Hak-beom, executive vice president of the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, and Zhu Miao, chairman of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, along with other officials from both organizations.
Hwang Hak-beom, executive vice president, said, "As one of the world’s major ports, the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan has significant potential for exchanges and cooperation between the two ports. Building on this meeting, we will identify practical areas of cooperation and continue working together to increase cargo volume and enhance competitiveness in port operations."
Meanwhile, the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority introduced the Port of Gwangyang’s key status and development plans at the meeting and exchanged views on ways to promote exchanges and increase cargo volume between the two ports. The two sides also agreed to use the meeting as an opportunity to share experience in port operations and development and continue cooperating in areas of mutual interest.
