People Power Party Ethics Committee Unable to Reach Conclusion on Retrials for Kwon Young-jin ('Grabbing by the Collar') and Seo Beom-su ('Roundhouse Kick' Slip of the Tongue)

[Financial News] The Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party failed to reach a conclusion on the 14th regarding the retrial requested by party lawmakers Kwon Young-jin and Seo Beom-su, who appealed the disciplinary action of 'suspension of party membership.'
An official from the Ethics Committee reportedly explained that they did not reach a conclusion on that day in order to make a careful judgment.
Accordingly, the Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party plans to hold another meeting on the 30th and reach a conclusion.
Within the party, the prevailing view is that the Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party will dismiss or reject the two lawmakers' requests for reconsideration. This is because the committee, which previously decided on the disciplinary action, is reviewing the matter again.
It appears that the two lawmakers will immediately consider filing a petition with the court for an injunction suspending the effect of the disciplinary action if the Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party dismisses or rejects their appeal.
Previously, the Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party suspended Rep. Kwon's party membership for one year and six months for grabbing People Power Party floor leader Chung Jeom-sik by the collar out of dissatisfaction with negotiations over the formation of the National Assembly. In addition, it imposed a 10-month suspension of party membership on Rep. Seo, who caused controversy by making an inappropriate remark in front of the victim of the Busan roundhouse kick incident.
They have jointly filed for a retrial, questioning the procedural legitimacy of the Central Ethics Committee of the People Power Party's disciplinary process.
