Korea Venture Business Association Expands Venture Business Exchanges and Cooperation with Uzbekistan

[Financial News] The Korea Venture Business Association (KOVA) discussed ways to cooperate on the venture and startup ecosystem with a delegation from the governor of Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region.
KOVA said on the 14th that it discussed “sharing Korea’s venture and startup ecosystem model and ways to promote exchanges and cooperation between venture companies in the two countries” with a delegation from the governor of Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region at its conference room in Guro-gu, Seoul.
The visit was arranged in conjunction with the Korea–Central Asia Summit being held in Seoul. It was intended to support Korean venture companies’ entry into the local market through cooperation with Uzbekistan’s local government and to expand exchanges between companies in the two countries.
The meeting was attended by a 13-member delegation, including Buzurov Khayrullo Khaitybaevich, governor of Fergana Region, as well as officials responsible for investment, industry and trade in the provincial government. KOVA introduced Korean venture-support policies, including the Special Act on the Promotion of Venture Businesses and the venture business certification system, along with Korea’s public-private cooperation framework. It also shared the success experiences of Korean venture companies and expertise in developing the ecosystem.
A KOVA official said, “We expect exchanges between the venture and startup ecosystems of Korea and Uzbekistan to expand further following this visit.” The official added, “By strengthening cooperation with overseas governments and related organizations, we will support Korean venture companies’ global expansion and practical business cooperation between companies in the two countries.”
