[Financial News] HD Hyundai E&F, HD Hyundai Oilbank’s specialized district-energy subsidiary, has completed an LNG combined heat and power plant at the Daesan Petrochemical Complex in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province. The plant began commercial operations at the end of July, and the electricity and heat it produces are being supplied to companies located in the Daesan complex, including H&L Advanced.
HD Hyundai Oilbank announced that HD Hyundai E&F held a completion ceremony on the 14th at the LNG combined heat and power plant in Daesan-eup, Seosan, South Chungcheong Province. Song Myung-jun and Jeong Im-joo, CEOs of HD Hyundai Oilbank, and Kim Myung-hyun, CEO of HD Hyundai E&F, attended the event along with other key officials.
Approximately 435 billion won was invested in constructing the LNG combined heat and power plant. HD Hyundai E&F, established in 2021, began building the plant in March 2024 and spent more than two years installing power-generation and heat-supply facilities. After verifying the facilities’ performance and stability through phased test operations, the plant began commercial operations at the end of July.
The newly built plant has an electricity-generation capacity of 290 megawatts (MW) and a heat-production capacity of 321 tons per hour. It uses a high-efficiency gas-turbine combined-cycle system fueled by LNG to produce electricity and heat simultaneously.
Song Myung-jun emphasized, "We hope HD Hyundai E&F will contribute to improving the competitiveness of companies located in the complex and advancing regional industry through a stable energy supply."
Kim Myung-hyun said, "We will do our utmost to operate the high-efficiency combined-cycle facilities reliably and supply electricity and heat without disruption."
