[Financial News] Korean Register (KR) held the 32nd Regular ISO Seoul Seminar on the 10th at the Korea Shipowners' Association’s Gwanghwamun Education and Research Center, sharing information on ISO certification and the latest industry trends with customers, it said on the 14th.
KR holds regular ISO seminars every year to help customers establish sustainable management strategies and provide expert information on the latest industry issues.
This year, KR held a Seoul seminar for the first time in addition to its Busan seminar, which is usually held around November, to expand customer engagement and provide the latest information to more companies.
About 40 representatives attended the event, including those from shipping companies such as PCL, Korea Line Corporation, and SM LINE, as well as logistics and manufacturing companies including LX Pantos, Dongbang Transport & Logistics, and HD Construction Equipment.
The seminar covered various topics related to responding to changes in the corporate management environment, including trends in revisions to ISO 9001 (quality management systems) and ISO 14001 (environmental management systems); the importance of ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management systems) and cybersecurity; the latest ESG trends and supply-chain due diligence; and the need to introduce anti-corruption management systems.
KR also presented commendation plaques to three companies—Daehan Sujung Gongsa, Polaris Shipping, and HUMAN TECH—for exemplary operation of ISO management systems and long-term maintenance of KR certification.
Lim Chang-mu, head of KR’s Management Systems Certification Center, said in his welcoming remarks, "As digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX) accelerate, the role of ISO certification in corporate risk management and sustainable management has become increasingly important. KR will continue to provide highly reliable certification services based on its expertise and actively support companies so they can respond effectively to the changing business environment."
