[Financial News] Hanwha General Insurance is working to improve financial access for senior customers who have difficulty using digital financial services. The company has prepared customized training to help older customers learn how to use mobile insurance services and support their access to digital finance.
Hanwha General Insurance said on the 14th that it held the Digital Finance School after inviting older customers living in Incheon, Bucheon and Bupyeong to its Gyeongin regional headquarters.
The program was designed to improve financial access for senior customers who are unfamiliar with digital finance as financial services rapidly shift to non-face-to-face channels. Considering that customers aged 60 and older account for approximately 78.7% of visitors to Hanwha General Insurance’s customer centers, the company prepared hands-on training.
The training lasted about two hours. Participants learned how to file insurance claims and check policy details through a mobile app, as well as how to connect to video consultations. They were then matched one-on-one with exclusive financial planners (FPs) and practiced using the services on their own smartphones while learning about features they had questions about. Customized consultations on insurance and coverage were also provided.
A special health lecture was also offered. It covered ways to restore physical and emotional well-being in later life, along with lymphatic therapy using gua sha, providing health management information alongside the financial education.
Customers showed strong interest in the program. Some asked whether they could attend with a spouse or acquaintance during the invitation process, while others said they would adjust existing schedules to participate. FPs also reportedly asked to take the training themselves so they could better guide customers.
Hanwha General Insurance plans to improve the program based on participant feedback and expand it nationwide in the future.
A Hanwha General Insurance representative said, "The significance of this training lies in helping customers use our services more conveniently even in a digital financial environment," adding, "We will continue various activities that provide customer-focused services and support healthy daily lives."
