"Relaxation in Nature During Chuseok Holiday"... KAGI Opens 3 Arboretums and Botanical Gardens for Free

[Financial News] An opportunity to enjoy relaxation and cultural experiences in nature is being provided to celebrate the Chuseok holiday.
Korea Arboreta and Gardens Institute (KAGI) announced on the 14th that it will open three of its affiliated institutions, including Baekdudaegan National Arboretum, Sejong National Arboretum, and National Botanic Garden of Korea, free of charge from the 24th to the 27th (closed on Chuseok Day).
This event was planned to celebrate the traditional national holiday, allowing the public to enjoy a relaxing break by freely experiencing the diverse exhibitions and activities at arboretums and botanical gardens. Each institution is operating various customized programs for visitors.
Starting on the 22nd, Baekdudaegan National Arboretum will present a special exhibition titled 'Forest Today, Open for Business' at the Visitor Center, utilizing friendly characters to introduce content related to the conservation of native plants and climate change response, such as the Seed Vault. On the 26th, the arboretum plans to hold a Siberian tiger behavioral enrichment program and an ecological presentation at the Tiger Forest to convey the value of conserving endangered species.
At Sejong National Arboretum, the traditional games experience "We Played So Well! Yutnori Edition," featuring games such as Yutnori and Jegichagi for the whole family to enjoy, will be held. Additionally, starting on the 19th, "The Second Season of the Colorful Garden," which adds autumn plant arrangements to the special exhibition "The Colorful Garden Painted by Henri Matisse," will be unveiled. National Botanic Garden of Korea will also hold an Autumn Flower Week event from the 19th of this month to the 11th of next month, offering participatory programs such as making pressed flower fans.
During the holiday period, four garden shops within the affiliated institutions (Baekdudaegan National Arboretum, Sejong National Arboretum, National Botanic Garden of Korea, and the National Garden Culture Institute) will hold a 10% discount event on all products. In cooperation with the Forestry Association, they have also decided to help expand sales channels for farmers by newly introducing excellent forest product companies, such as those selling Neungi mushroom tea and Omija syrup.
With the recent increase in "holiday vacationers" who use the holiday break to enjoy outdoor relaxation instead of performing ancestral rites, the arboretum is also taking steps to improve public transportation connectivity and expand parking spaces for the convenience of visitors.
Sim Sang-taek, director of Korea Arboreta and Gardens Institute, said, "We have prepared free admission and various cultural events so that the public can spend a relaxing and fulfilling time with their families in nature during the Chuseok holiday," adding, "I hope you create special memories while appreciating the beauty of our plants."
