Jeong Jeom-sik: "President Lee Jae Myung Must Signal a 180-Degree Shift in State Policy Direction"

[Financial News] People Power Party floor leader Jeong Jeom-sik argued on the 14th that President Lee Jae Myung must demonstrate his will to shift the direction of state affairs through a press conference expected to be held this week.
Floor Leader Jeong stated at a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on this day, "It is said that President Lee Jae Myung plans to hold a press conference this week as a response to the sharp drop in his approval ratings," adding, "Through this, he must send a strong signal that the President has changed."
He warned, "Otherwise, if it only brings disappointment by showing nothing has changed, that press conference would be worse than not holding it at all," adding, "It will only cause trouble, just like the recent cabinet reshuffle that caused approval ratings to plummet further while trying to rebound."
He added, "However, what is needed before shifting the direction of state affairs is for President Lee Jae Myung himself to regain a cool-headed understanding of reality," and pointed out, "With President Lee Jae Myung's current language, such as 'counter-rallying resistance' and 'reaction against reform,' it is difficult to distinguish whether this is 18th-century France or 21st-century South Korea."
He continued, "(This) clearly demonstrates President Lee Jae Myung's perception of state affairs being detached from the reality of the people," adding, "President Lee Jae Myung must now shift the focus of his governance from his own issues—such as the withdrawal of indictments, constitutional amendments for consecutive terms, and trials of his close associates—to the anxious and weary lives of the people."
In particular, People Power Party floor leader Jeong Jeom-sik urged President Lee Jae Myung to make a forward-looking change in the three areas of real estate, national security, and the rule of law.
