[Financial News] The Bukhang Marina Sports Center, which reopened last month, is continuing to receive an enthusiastic response, with all swimming-class slots selling out as soon as online registration opened.
Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on the 14th that the aquatic facility, which reopened as the “Bukhang Marina Sports Center” on the 24th of last month after scheduled maintenance and safety inspections, is operating smoothly.
The biggest change following the reopening is the extension of operating hours. The facility’s hours were significantly expanded from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. As a result, visits by office workers and other citizens seeking to use the facility before or after work have surged. In particular, all regular swimming-class slots—360 places across eight time slots—filled up immediately after online registration began.
BPA also plans to expand the diving pool’s operating hours. The diving pool, currently available during two daily time slots—morning and afternoon—will offer three time slots per day starting next month. The Bukhang Marina aquatic facility attracts more than 70,000 visitors annually because it has a six-lane swimming pool and a 24-meter diving pool, the deepest in the Yeongnam region.
Song Sang-geun, president of BPA, said, "We thank all the citizens who have visited the Bukhang Marina Sports Center since its reopening," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that it remains a facility everyone can enjoy with confidence."
