【Financial News Jeonnam-Gwangju = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Min Hyung-bae, Special Mayor of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City (Mayor of Gwangju), presented an appointment letter to newly appointed spokesperson Bae Mi-gyeong on the 14th.
Earlier, Gwangju Special City designated the spokesperson position as an open position to strengthen citizen-centered policy communication and posted a public recruitment notice in early August. After five applicants from across the country applied, Bae Mi-gyeong, CEO of The Kingpin, was selected as the new spokesperson following a fair and rigorous verification process, including interviews by the selection examination committee and a review by the personnel committee. Her term is two years and may be extended to up to five years based on her performance.
Spokesperson Bae Mi-gyeong will oversee the overall publicity policy, including Gwangju Special City’s comprehensive municipal publicity plan, policy messages, external publicity strategies, and media briefings. She will also work to strengthen communication with citizens and the media.
Spokesperson Bae said, "I will faithfully serve as a communication channel that conveys the purpose of Gwangju Special City’s major policies and projects to citizens and listens to voices from the field," adding, "I will do my best to strengthen open, citizen-centered communication."
Meanwhile, Spokesperson Bae earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting at Chonnam National University (CNU). She previously served as an external cooperation and public relations officer at the 2015 Gwangju Universiade Organizing Committee and as head of the Planning and Public Relations Team at the Urban Marketing Division of Gwangju Metropolitan City.
