[Financial News] SK AX received a Minister of Employment and Labor Award in recognition of its efforts to innovate work through AI talent development. The company earned high marks as an “AI augmentation” case for proactively developing its own AI training and certification programs, thereby improving employee productivity and strengthening corporate competitiveness.
SK AX announced on the 14th that it had received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award at the Corporate Qualification Government Recognition Best Practices Presentation Contest organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor during the Human Resources Development Conference held at COEX Magok Convention Center in Seoul on the 11th.
The award officially recognized the expertise and effectiveness of SK AX’s generative AI competency certification program. Because the program is a verification system that can be applied immediately in the workplace, it is also expected to spread to other companies and industries.
The Corporate Qualification Government Recognition System is a government program that officially recognizes high-quality qualifications independently operated by companies to improve employees’ job skills. SK AX’s self-developed generative AI training and certification programs, AI Literacy and AI Bootcamp, were recognized as Level 2 and Level 1 qualifications in generative AI utilization, respectively. This is the first and only case in South Korea in which the government has recognized an AI competency certification program.
AI Literacy aims to ensure that all employees, regardless of their job function, acquire basic AI knowledge and skills. It is used to develop and assess generative AI capabilities needed for everyday tasks, including document writing, data structuring, spreadsheet use, and basic programming. AI Bootcamp is a training program for developing AI specialists. It cultivates experts who can be deployed immediately in industrial settings, including by building customized AI agents that perform tasks autonomously in connection with internal company data. AI Literacy and AI Bootcamp are equipped with the latest AI models, which automatically provide everything from assessments to personalized feedback for each employee.
Because AI is used for employee training and competency assessment, SK AX also established a management system to improve the fairness and reliability of its certification results. Reflecting the principles of safety, reliability, and transparency under the Framework Act on the Development of Artificial Intelligence, which took effect in January, the company minimizes bias in test-question development and the assessment process while having people review and manage the final results. It is also fostering a culture of responsible AI use by informing all employees about labeling generative AI outputs and complying with ethical guidelines.
Kim Min-hwan, head of HRX initiatives at SK AX, said, “This award recognizes the credibility and practical value of the AI competency certification platform that SK AX proactively established. We will go beyond supporting employees’ growth in AI capabilities and continue developing it into an AI competency certification system that is trusted and used in industrial settings.”
