[Financial News] Hankook & Company Group has demonstrated its latest automotive lead-acid battery technology at Europe’s largest auto parts exhibition, which attracts 150,000 visitors from around the world. The group plans to tighten its focus on the demanding European aftermarket by operating a joint exhibition booth with Hanon Systems to create mobility synergies and leveraging its global production and logistics network.
Hankook & Company Group’s holding company, Hankook & Company, and thermal-management solutions provider Hanon Systems jointly operated a Hankook brand exhibition booth at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from Aug. 8 to 12 local time, the companies said on the 14th.
The ES Business Division put its latest lead-acid battery lineup, including absorbent glass mat (AGM), EFB and maintenance-free (MF) batteries, at the forefront of its booth. In particular, the AGM battery, designed for vehicles equipped with idle stop-and-go (ISG) systems, drew the attention of local buyers with a lifespan and durability of up to four times those of conventional products. It can also provide a stable power supply in modern vehicles with heavy power demands from systems such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The ES Business Division has continued expanding its business base in Europe since establishing its German Frankfurt office and building a logistics hub in Hamburg in 2022. At the exhibition, partners also gave high marks to the reliability of its supply network, which links diversified production capabilities at its plants in Korea and the United States with local logistics networks.
Hanon Systems also outlined its plans to enter the aftermarket, drawing on its thermal-management technology proven in the global vehicle market. After officially announcing plans to expand the related business in August, the company unveiled detailed business directions to major European partners for the first time at the trade fair.
A Hankook & Company Group official said, "This exhibition was a meaningful opportunity to directly showcase the competitiveness of the Hankook brand’s batteries and the group’s mobility business capabilities to major European customers and partners. We will continue expanding customer engagement in the European market and strengthening the global competitiveness of our mobility businesses, including batteries."
