Musk: “Tesla’s Next-Generation Roadster to Be Unveiled on October 1”

[Financial News] Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, announced that the next-generation Roadster will be unveiled on October 1.
According to foreign media reports on the 12th, Musk posted a graphic on X, formerly Twitter, showing the date along with the words “Preparing for launch.” He then added a reply stating, “New Tesla Roadster reveal 10.01.”
The tech-focused outlet The Information reported in August that Tesla planned to unveil the Roadster, which was designed that month at the earliest.
The Information reported that the event could include a demonstration of a limited-edition model equipped with cold-gas thrusters jointly developed with SpaceX. The demonstration was reportedly expected to take place at SpaceX’s McGregor test site in Texas.
Tesla first unveiled the next-generation Roadster in 2017 and said deliveries would begin in 2020. However, the program has since faced repeated delays.
The Roadster was initially developed as a high-performance electric vehicle based on Model S Plaid components. After that approach was abandoned, the vehicle reportedly shifted direction toward a new carbon-fiber hypercar.
Meanwhile, Tesla began trial operations on the 3rd of Cybercab, a two-seat robotaxi without a steering wheel or pedals, in parts of Austin, Texas.
Musk has identified Cybercab as a key vehicle for Tesla to secure dominance in the autonomous-vehicle market.
