[Financial News] Coupang will open its first offline pop-up space where customers can directly experience its private-label (PB) products.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Coupang’s PB subsidiary CPLB will host ‘Coupang Only Festa’ at Anderson C in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, for four days from the 17th through the 20th. The event aims to introduce customers to the efforts and stories of local small and midsize manufacturers that have produced popular products such as ‘gomgom’ and ‘Tamsaa,’ alongside opportunities to try the products. Since CPLB was established in 2020, this is the first time it has met customers directly in an offline space.
Coupang Only Festa will be held across the first and second floors of Anderson C and its outdoor area. It will showcase a wide range of PB products in one place, spanning categories from food to household goods, beauty and fashion. Visitors can find fresh food, rice and mixed grains, ready-to-eat meals, detergents, snacks and beverages, as well as kitchen and household products, including ‘gomgom,’ ‘Comet,’ ‘Tamsaa’ and ‘Zoom.’ They can also experience products from fashion, beauty, stationery and household brands such as ‘Homeplanet,’ ‘Rollytree’ and ‘VitaHalo.’
About 120 small and midsize manufacturers from across the country that produce Coupang’s PB products will participate in the event. One entire floor will be dedicated to an exhibition introducing these manufacturers, including their production processes and individual stories. The participating companies will present about 100 types of products developed under their own brands, in addition to the PB products they supply to Coupang.
The venue will also offer hands-on programs that allow visitors to experience the products directly. Activities will include rice and mixed-grain experiences, a food preference test, and detergent and fabric-softener refill sessions. Samples of household products, including wallpaper and draft stoppers, will also be provided. The event space will feature various themes based on product characteristics. Planned concepts include an area displaying fresh food by color, a ‘Color Bar,’ a ‘Candy Shop’ and a ‘Frozen Showcase.’
More than 6,300 people have registered in advance so far. CPLB will accept advance reservations through the 16th.
Kyungsoo Jeon, head of Coupang’s CPLB, said, "We hope customers will be able to taste and experience Coupang’s diverse PB products in one place and discover their quality and variety." He added, "Coupang’s PB products are made by small and midsize companies that have built competitiveness in their respective fields. We will make every effort to grow together with them."
