Ministry of Intellectual Property Recruits Participants for '2026 Second-Half Patent Attorney Practical Training Program'

[Financial News] The International Intellectual Property Training Institute of the Ministry of Intellectual Property announced on the 14th that it is recruiting participants for the '2026 Second-Half Patent Attorney Practical Training Program' to foster intellectual property experts equipped with professional competence as patent attorneys.
Applications will be accepted from the 14th to the 18th of this month through the International Intellectual Property Training Institute website. The training is primarily for licensed lawyers and will be conducted in the form of group training at the International Intellectual Property Training Institute in Yuseong District, Daejeon, for approximately one month from November 2 to December 3.
This course focuses on strengthening practical competencies essential for practicing as a patent attorney. It consists of foundational subjects such as professional ethics and the interpretation of the Patent Attorney Act, as well as practical courses in industrial property law, hands-on training in industrial property applications, and practical training in trials and litigation covering the drafting of documents for various proceedings. Notably, the second-half program will newly offer the 'Understanding Science and Technology' course, which is mandatory for licensed attorneys with non-science and engineering backgrounds.
As intellectual property (IP) disputes in the high-tech sector have recently become increasingly globalized and complex, the need for interdisciplinary IP experts equipped with both legal expertise and technical understanding is growing. The newly established course on understanding science and technology is expected to provide practical assistance in lowering technical barriers for legal professionals from non-science and engineering backgrounds and enhancing their capabilities in patent applications and dispute response.
