[Financial News] PlayD, an SOOP affiliate, is strengthening its creative and gaming marketing capabilities and expanding its business into integrated marketing beyond AI-based performance marketing.
PlayD announced on the 14th that it had hired Thomas Huh as chief creative director (CD) and would fully launch a four-division structure comprising the Marketing Division, Growth Strategy Division, Creative Solutions Division and Management Planning Division.
Huh is a creative expert with 20 years of experience, having produced campaigns such as McDonald’s “Big Mac Song” and won Titanium and Grand Prix awards at Cannes Lions. After working at foreign-affiliated and digital agencies, he led the production division at Serviceplan Korea and ranked third in the “2024 Ranking of CDs with the Most Awards in Korea.”
As part of the reorganization, PlayD elevated its Creative Solutions organization to division level and placed Huh in charge. The company plans to broaden its expertise into integrated marketing by combining brand strategy and campaign planning capabilities with its existing AI- and data-based digital performance creative expertise.
The Marketing Division recruited senior-level talent in branding campaigns and gaming marketing and established dedicated teams. Song Gi-baek, head of the Management Planning Division who led SOOP’s acquisition of PlayD last year, also joined early this year and is pursuing synergies among group companies, strategic investments and the discovery of new businesses. Choi Hyun-seok leads the Marketing Division, while Yoo Jae-shin heads the Growth Strategy Division, which oversees the media and solutions business. PlayD plans to strengthen the competitiveness of its existing businesses around the four divisions while accelerating its entry into new businesses in line with SOOP’s launch of an integrated advertising and marketing brand in the second half of the year.
Jo Myeong-jin, CEO of PlayD, said, “We will expand the scope of our advertising and marketing business and strengthen our competitiveness as a differentiated AI marketing partner through organic collaboration among the four divisions and synergies with SOOP and its group companies.”
