Kim Byung-min, Former Seoul Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, Named New Head of Seoul Tourism Organization

[Financial News] Seoul announced on the 14th that it had appointed Kim Byung-min, former Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs of Seoul, as the new president and CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO). Kim will lead the STO for three years starting today. He is expected to spearhead efforts to strengthen Seoul’s tourism industry and help the city emerge as a world-class tourism destination. 
Kim holds a doctorate in public administration from Kyung Hee University and is an expert in public administration. He has served as a research fellow at the Institute of Engineering Research, SNU, an adjunct and visiting professor in the Department of Public Administration at Kyung Hee University, and Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs of Seoul.
More recently, as co-chair of the G3 Seoul Planning Committee, he oversaw the planning and presentation of the G3 Seoul Plan, which outlined Seoul’s 100 key initiatives.
Kim said, "For Seoul to rise into the global top three cities, it is more important than anything else for the city to establish itself as a tourism destination loved by people around the world. We will strengthen city branding to promote Seoul’s unique appeal and content to the world, and actively link tourism with Seoul’s major policies, including the revitalization of the nighttime economy. I will devote all my efforts to making Seoul a world-class tourism city."
