According to the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Korea Heritage Service on the 14th, the 'Palace Visitor Order Campaign' will be held at Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace Complex, Deoksugung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace from that day through the 18th.
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center organized the campaign in response to recent incidents of smoking on palace grounds, unauthorized entry into restricted areas, damage to cultural heritage, and verbal and physical abuse of on-site management staff as the number of palace visitors has increased.
Gyeongbokgung Palace will conduct on-site guidance activities from 2 to 4 p.m. on the 14th through the 16th and on the 18th, while Changdeokgung Palace Complex, Deoksugung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace will do so from the 15th through the 18th. The directors and staff of each palace will participate, and safety managers will wear vests so that visitors can easily identify them.
At Gyeongbokgung Palace, tour agency representatives accompanying groups and bus passengers will be informed of visitor rules in the parking lot, while participants in regular guided tours will receive instruction on visitor etiquette.
Changdeokgung Palace Complex will distribute fans at locations such as Geumhomun and Hamyangmun Gate and provide guidance in English. Deoksugung Palace will patrol the area around Junghwajeon Hall and Seokjojeon to encourage visitors to follow visitor-order rules.
An OX quiz will be held in front of Honghwamun Gate at Changgyeonggung Palace on the prohibition of smoking and eating, compliance with restricted-area rules, and photography etiquette.
On the 17th, Huh Min, Administrator of the Korea Heritage Service, officials from related agencies, and royal gatekeepers will conduct a joint promotional campaign at Gyeongbokgung Palace. They will hold the campaign at the Woldae of Gwanghwamun and conduct a visitor survey near Sujeongjeon.
A key feature of the operating plans for each palace is the addition of quizzes and surveys to the guidance provided to group tourists and tour participants. The program is designed to inform visitors about cultural heritage protection rules while also assessing their understanding and gathering their opinions.
During the campaign, 2,000 promotional fans bearing messages about visitor-order rules will also be distributed. Earlier, preliminary campaigns were held at each palace from the 9th through the 11th.
