Korea Productivity Center and CJ Group Launch 'CVC Expert' Course

[Financial News] Korea Productivity Center (KPC) will conduct a 'Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) Expert' course reflecting CJ Group's practical experience from October 12 to 16.
According to industry sources on the 14th, this training course was planned to meet the increased demand for CVC working-level personnel following the amendment of the Fair Trade Act in 2021, which allowed general holding companies to own CVCs.
In particular, this training curriculum reflects CJ Group's practical experience accumulated while operating investment and strategy functions across the holding company and its subsidiaries. It also incorporates the actual concerns and case studies of practitioners who have carried out investment and business linkages not only in separate investment entities but also in business organizations.
Unlike existing venture capital education focused on financial analysis and investment screening, it is characterized by systematically covering CVC's unique strategic investment logic, such as designing synergies with the parent company, business cooperation with affiliates, and internal decision-making systems.
The curriculum is structured in stages, ranging from fundamental venture investment competencies to specialized practical skills, including CVC operational structures and strategy formulation, fund design, and exit strategies such as M&A and capital recovery. Days 1 and 2 are conducted online, while days 3 through 5 are held offline. The program also covers the latest practical trends, such as performing investment tasks using generative artificial intelligence (AI).
This course is designed to help participants acquire the 'Corporate Venture Capital Specialist' private certification registered with the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET), and a certification exam will be administered after the completion of the training. Networking time has also been arranged for participants to interact with one another.
The target audience for this training includes practitioners and managers from CVCs and corporate investment organizations, as well as department heads and staff involved in strategic planning, new business development, and M&A. Individuals interested in startup investment screening, open innovation, and investment consulting are also welcome to participate. Further details can be found on the KPC website.
