[Financial News] Hyundai Certified Used Cars is launching a large-scale discount promotion ahead of the Chuseok holiday to mark the third anniversary of its launch. The company will offer about 200 popular models, including the Hyundai Grandeur and Genesis G80, at special prices. It will also run a differentiated event replacing heavily worn driver’s-seat covers with genuine new parts. The strategy is to strengthen its position in the used-car market by building on three years of quality-verification data and customer trust in fixed-price sales.
Hyundai Certified Used Cars announced on the 14th that it will run the “Chuseok BIG Festa” through the 30th. The discount event will feature about 200 key volume models, including the Hyundai Grandeur, Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Genesis G80, and Genesis GV70.
A “Driver’s-Seat Cover Replacement Event” will also be held to commemorate the company’s third anniversary. Under the program, driver’s-seat covers—the parts that typically show the clearest signs of wear in used cars—will be replaced free of charge with genuine new Hyundai parts before delivery. The event is limited to 20 vehicles, including six Hyundai Elantras, four Hyundai Sonatas, and 10 Hyundai Grandeurs, and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
An analysis of cumulative sales data from the past three years showed that the Hyundai Grandeur and Genesis G80 were the best-selling models. The Hyundai Grandeur led performance, accounting for about 33% of all Hyundai Certified Used Cars sales, followed by the Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, and Hyundai Tucson. Within the Genesis brand, the G80 accounted for 44%, nearly half of sales, followed by the Genesis GV80 at 21% and the Genesis GV70 at 20%.
Hyundai Motor Company is also strengthening its direct-operated system, handling everything from vehicle acquisition and detailed inspections to preparation for sale, sales, and after-sales service. After establishing a system for verifying vehicle condition through detailed inspections covering about 270 items, dedicated preparation centers, and fixed-price sales, the company recently introduced “Warranty Plus,” which provides additional coverage even after the existing warranty period ends, further enhancing its after-sales service.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative said, “Over the past three years, we have continued working to create a used-car purchasing environment where customers can make choices with confidence.” The representative added, “We will continue to establish new standards in the used-car market through differentiated products and services that only a manufacturer can provide.”
